Allow Me to Introduce Myself
January 18, 2008 | |
My name is Lisa Blankenship. I am a teacher at Adams Middle School in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. I have been teaching for over 12 years. This is the first class I am taking to get my Rank I.
I expect this course to be challenging for a couple of reasons. First, it has been a while since I have taken a class. I am used to teaching 8th grade students, so becoming a student again will be an adjustment. ( I’m sure I will get through it.) Second, I have decided to get my Rank I with a technology endorsement. I probably am above average in technology when compared to other teachers in my building, but I know I am lacking in terms of comparisons with other groups. I have found in recent years using technology in my classroom has been a benefit to both me and my students.
I hope I will both give and receive when it comes to this class. I hope to share any knowledge I may have. I can already tell I will be learning and growing. I am looking forward to it.

I look forward to getting to know you and all the others in this class. It’s really amazing how we end up knowing each other without ever having seen one another. Distance ed is not really that distant at all.
Hola Lisa,
I teach Spanish at Prestonsburg High School. I’ve been there 3 years. Glad to meet you!
If it’s anything like Senor Lowell’s last class, it will be an interesting and challenging semester! Nevertheless, you will learn more than you can imagine!!! By the way, most everyone in the class is always ready and willing to lend a helping hand when needed! So is Sanor Lowell and you can always find him on IM.
Nice to meet you. I think that after this course that you will be so far ahead in knowing about technology. This is my 23rd online course at MSU (I went to count becasue I said the wrong thing at the Tapped In chat Wednesday evening) and this is the first one that I have taken that did not revolve around the Blackboard.
