Expanding My Horizons
April 6, 2008 | |
In order to grow, whether it be academically or socially, you have to get to a place where you are almost uncomfortable. I realize I am growing because I am uncomfortable with my standing in this class. I have struggled with posting and finding articles to respond to, however I think a light bulb has gone off in my head. I wish the e-mail Dr. Lowell sent out about things to do when there are no assignments on blackboard had gone out at the beginning of this class, but I now see what he is wanting us to do. It is not just about this class, for me, it about implementing things learned into my professional and personal life. When I get uncomfortable about something, I generally shut down. Well, I can’t do that with this class, so I am growing. It feels pretty good.
Be on the watch, more coming your way!

I had Dr. Lowell last semester, so I had a heads up on his technique….you are exactly right. He likes you to explore new territory and to think on your own….in other words to “think like a learner”! So you are right on the money!
I know exactly how you feel. I went through the same thing last semester. I love the person I have become because of it.
It’s working.
